Our Herd
Our equine companions don’t speak, but they will communicate if you listen.
Fig Newton
Originally from Amesbury, MA, Fig is a Grand Prix Schoolmaster who competed at the highest level in Dressage, winning several Gold and Silver medals.
Now retired from the show ring, Fig brings his strong leadership skills and fun-loving sense of humor to HERD Foundation, helping our clients develop confidence and self-empowerment.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon came to the farm in the Summer of 2021. Cinnamon is a pro carriage horse and all-around sweetheart.
She plays an imperative role in helping individuals achieve self-development.
Princess
Born on February 4, 2013, Princess began her career on the racetrack before retiring in 2017. She joined our farm in 2020 after meeting her forever owner.
She quickly made her mark on our program with her playful, sassy personality. Whether riding, doing groundwork, or connecting in individual and family sessions, Princess brings energy and charm to everything she does.
Aggie
Aggie is a 20-year-old Swedish Warmblood mare whose life story reflects resilience, grace, and adaptability. For many years, she enjoyed a successful career as a Hunter, known for her athleticism, elegance, and steady temperament in the show ring.
After an injury that resulted in the loss of one eye, Aggie transitioned into a new chapter of her life. Rather than stepping away from meaningful work, she found a renewed purpose in equine-assisted therapy. Her calm presence, patience, and ability to connect with people make her a natural partner for therapeutic work.
Now, Aggie spends her days offering comfort and healing to individuals in equine therapy sessions. She brings forward the wisdom of her years, her gentle nature, and her quiet strength, inspiring those who work with her to embrace resilience and adaptability in their own lives.
Sammy
Sammy joined the HERD on September 12th, 2017, after being rescued from a kill pen. Sammy had to do a lot of work on himself, including how to trust and connect with humans and other horses.
Now Sammy is helping others trust and connect, and is quite the Rock Star. Sammy even has a T-shirt named after him, which is a big seller and reads: “Got Sammied”.
Stitch
Stitch is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse who is 15 years old and brings playfulness, companionship, and a sense of calm to our clients.

Miss America, currently 33 years of age, keeps a watchful eye over the rest of the herd, and is known for her wisdom and intuition. Miss America has, and continues to help numerous clients learn about connection and clear communication through her work in the program.
Satillo River
In Loving Memory
(02/28/1995 - 11/01/2022)
A retired racehorse, Satillo River, lived a very adventurous life! He enjoyed being a hunter jumper, fox hunting, and an all-around rockstar at Pine Creek Sporting Lodge in Okeechobee, Florida. Recently, he has been reunited with his family and enjoys being part of the HERD. Satillo touched the hearts of many and is greatly missed by both his horse and human herd.
